Ruth is passionate about helping owners understand their dogs, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to create a strong and lasting partnership. She believes that when owners learn what motivates their dog, training becomes more enjoyable, communication improves, and both dog and owner can thrive together. Her approach focuses on creating practical, enjoyable training experiences that build confidence at both ends of the lead and develop skills that can be applied in everyday life.
Her interest in gundog training began with her own dogs. Living with energetic and enthusiastic gundogs sparked a fascination with canine behaviour and a desire to better understand how dogs learn, think, and communicate. What started as a personal interest quickly developed into a genuine passion for canine behaviour, training methods, and the practical application of gundog principles for family pets.
Through extensive training, study, and hands - on experience, Ruth has developed a particular interest in helping owners exploring the 'why' behind their dog's behaviour. She believes that understanding creates confidence, enabling owners to make informed training decisions, communicate more effectively, and achieve lasting results through kind, consistent, and practical training. Rather than simply teaching dogs new behaviours, Ruth focuses on equipping owners with the knowledge and confidence to continue progressing independently.
Drawing on her background in coaching, facilitation, and personal development, Ruth brings a calm, supportive, and encouraging approach to every session. She recognises that every dog and owner is unique, adapting her training to suit individual personalities, learning styles, and goals while creating an environment where learning is enjoyable and rewarding.
As an Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor(APGI), Ruth enjoys showing owners how gundog training principles can provide structure, enrichment, focus, and self-control while strengthening the relationship they share with their dog.Whether helping owners build reliable everyday obedience or introducing the rewarding world of pet gundog training, her goal remains the same: to help people develop happy, confident dogs and build partnerships that last a lifetime.
