Nicky Cashmore APGI

Nicky’s initial career started in the health service, and she has been loyal to this profession for the last four decades, however, her passion for gundogs and gundog training enticed her away from her role in the NHS and led her to set up Moors and Meadows Dog Training.

Nicky has owned and bred Labradors and Golden Retrievers over the last three decades and alongside her gundogs, has a passion for horses and when she’s not teaching and riding, you’ll find her clay shooting, or during the season, out on shoots with her own dogs beating, picking up or assisting her friend at the peg.

Not all owners want to work or compete their gundogs, but Nicky believes that all dogs benefit from engaging in training that satisfies their intrinsic breed traits and having seen how much her own dogs have thrived, loves doing pet gundog training.Tailoring her training for you and your dog, Nicky will help you deepen your relationship as you develop the skills your dog was bred for making dog ownership even more enjoyable.

Combining her experience of working with and caring for people, with her knowledge and experience of working with animals, allows Nicky to teach with empathy, understanding, kindness, in a positive, encouraging manner.She believes learning should always have an element of fun as you learn more effectively when feeling at ease, as such expect plenty of smiles at class.

Moors & Meadows Dog Training is based near Inverness and offers regular group classes as well as one to one lessons.
