Karen has a lot of experience working with dogs, both as pets and as working animals with many years spent working with racing greyhounds. This means she has experience of living and working with dogs that have strong hunting instincts. She understands that owning these types of dogs can be a real pleasure if their innate traits are understood and honoured with appropriate training.

After running her own successful dog day care and dog walking business in Watford for over 10 years, Karen has real passion and understanding for helping owners enjoy the best relationship with their dog.

Karen works her own dogs Dave and Weller, both spaniel crosses, on her local shoot during the season and is passionate about training her dogs. The main enjoyment of owning her dogs is as pets, like most people. Being able to have them trained to a working standard is a benefit that Karen believes can be enjoyed by the many rather than the few.

Traditionally, gun dog training is viewed as not very inclusive and only suitable for the traditional gun dog breeds, but Karen and All Avenues Dog Training believe the benefits extend into the many cross breeds that are popular today. Many have been created using hunting breeds and will have all the traits of their pedigree counterparts.
