Joseph has owned and trained a variety of breeds with Spaniels being his real favourites. With our lives becoming increasingly busy we often struggle to apply the calm and assertive way we need to display to make our dogs understand what is required. Joseph will help you to connect and find the right starting point to communicate with your companion and begin teaching him what is required for everyday life with you.

Of late Joseph has successfully completed the Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor programme. During the 18 months of the course he added large amounts of insight to his existing practical knowledge in training dogs and Joseph can now expertly instruct you how to train the dog you always desired.

Southdowns Dog Services is based in Hampshire just to the north of Portsmouth. During the season Joseph will spend a considerable time on shoots. He has experience in game keeping, beating and picking up. So, no matter whether you are a novice who owns a gundog breed as a pet, or a more advanced dog owner looking to train a dog for beating, picking up or on the peg, Joseph will be able to help.

Based on his experience Joseph can advise and help you to better the relationship with your dog, may it only be to improve loose lead walking, recall, general obedience or the development of a shooting companion. He offers 1:1 lessons, group training and training with game and also runs the unique Pet Gundog Training courses with optional assessments at the end.
