Surrounded by beautiful countryside in South Wiltshire it is not difficult to get drawn in by Jane’s love for all gundog breeds. The area from where she runs her business Littledown Dog Training, is well-known for some of the most beautiful shooting grounds in the country.

It is a long journey to get your dog ready for the shooting field, and even if your gundog ends up being a pet only, you still should see the responsibility to train him well.

Jane sees it as very important that before you embark on your training route you need to learn to understand your dog and how you can teach him in the best possible way.

Building a foundation and trust stand at the forefront, and Jane’s calm and knowledgeable background will guide you in the right direction whichever way you decide to take your dog’s training path.

By understanding the ‘why’ of training as well as the ‘what’ and ‘how’, her courses aim to help build an ever closer bond, leading to happy and fulfilled dogs and owners.

While these wonderful gundog breeds do make excellent pets, they are also very efficient predators, bred to work in the shooting field with their powerful energy, speed and stamina.

Being a pet, it is important to make sure that this energy is channelled in the right direction, and the correct mental stimulation is provided. The great reward will be at the end when you find joy in spending time with your dog and are feeling the bond you have created.

Jane will spice up her lessons with a good pinch of fun. She will guide you along from the humble basics, building your confidence and learning to trust your dog. Thereafter you can decide how far you want to go depending on your lifestyle and requirements. From general obedience, or basic pet gundog training, Jane can certainly take you and your dog all the way to succeed in the shooting field.

Jane has successfully completed 18months of studying under Lez Graham and is part of the growing number of Accredited Pet Gundog Instructors.
