There were always dogs in Darren’s life. From a young age he was surrounded by his grandparent’s Labradors which he adored and was fascinated by.

Darren has worked with children for thirty years. Over time he learnt, and now believes, that setting consistent boundaries and giving clear instructions is mandatory to succeed in your training approach. It is important to create the right atmosphere and environment for handler and dog, to achieve a positive learning outcome.

Sevengillys Gundogs is based in North Norfolk and whatever your intentions are with regard to training your dog, Darren will be delighted to help.

Following his successful accreditation under Lez Graham MA to become an Accredited Pet Gundog instructor, Darren has now the understanding he needs to bring owner and dog together. The correct relationship is key no matter what kind of training you pursue thereafter.

Having spent many years teaching children, Darren is putting a focus on training courses for young dog handlers.Dogs have a calming effect on youngsters and training a dog comes along with learning a lot about yourselves and life in general. Training a dog requires patience and time, often a rare occurrence in our fast moving and hectic world.

Darren uses common sense paired with pinch of fun to create a relaxed training atmosphere. He will guide you through all levels and development stages of your dog, in either individual or group lessons. Basic loose lead walking or recall will get the same attention than more advanced retrieving exercises or whistle work. The techniques you learn give you the ability to train your dog wherever you are, from your back garden to an open field with plenty of distractions.

Every dog needs to learn and be taught what is expect from him depending on his role of either ‘just’ a pet or performing shooting companion. Darren will be delighted to share his experience with you and be part of your successful dog training journey.
