Christine is passionate about gundog training may it be just for fun, to achieve competitive levels or train your dog for the shooting field. Her business Town and Country Dog Training offers training for all pet gundog requirements with a focus on both the handler and the dog to achieve the best possible training outcome.

The intelligence of gundog breeds is phenomenal, if you share your life with one and would like to get the best out of their natural instincts Christine can help you to train them based on their abilities, leading to a more balanced dog and a happier owner.

Gundogs make great pets but if their energy and enthusiasm is left without guidance they can become bored and destructive. Originally bred to be workers to either flush and/or retrieve game, retriever breeds are generally eager to please, they want to be involved and engaged. Don’t be misled though, tiring a dog does not require miles and hours of walking, it is the interaction with your companion and the use of his brain that will make him most fulfilled.

There are five different levels of training on offer from beginner through to Working Pet Gundog and enrolling on our Accredited Pet Gundog classes will set you on an enjoyable and fulfilling path of training your dog.

Christine’s training grounds in the heart of Somerset, cater for all abilities from working on the open field to woodland and water. No matter if you are new to Pet Gundog training or if you are an experienced dog owner with a young dog, our training classes are structured to meet all of your requirements.

If you prefer a more bespoke training environment, Christine also offers one to one training lessons both for Pet Gundog training and general obedience.

If you are looking to share your home with a new dog but are unsure which gundog breed would suit your lifestyle, give Christine a ring for an informative chat.
