Living with and breeding Working Cocker Spaniels has given Carole a deep understanding of the psyche of the spaniel, and, having been puppy and Scent Dog trainer since 2015, is delighted to include offer her passion for gundogs to the mix of her training classes.

Gundogs are affectionate yet they need clear boundaries and a training approach that suits their genetic set up. It is often overlooked how much these dogs need their brains exercised rather than their bodies and, this, combined with conflicting advice on social media, means a lot of new gundog owners can go awry.

Even if you don’t plan to work your dog in the field, pet gundog training will teach your dog an excellent level of obedience together with retrieving and hunting skills, which in return gives you a well - behaved companion you can trust. Training your dog in the way that it’s breeding intended leads not only to a contented dog at your feet, but a strengthening of the bond between you.

My dogs are my passion and I currently own five Working Cocker Spaniels, four of which are home bred over several generations.Two donkeys complete my animal set up.

Nettlehurst Dog Training Centre is located just on the outskirts of Beith amongst the rolling countryside of North Ayrshire and within the proximity of Glasgow and Prestwick with training grounds that extend to about 7 acres with a variety of fields, a partly walled orchard, a large freshwater pool, and a hard standing area for parking.Further facilities include indoor space for training and tutorials plus there is a well - stocked shop offering dog training paraphernalia.
