Oakwood Dog Training provides a warm welcome to the Gundog world and offers Pet Gundog training within easy reach of Swindon and the surrounding counties of Wiltshire, Berkshire and South Oxfordshire.

Becky’s life means animals. From childhood to today there weren’t many times she wasn’t looking after a four-legged friend. Her passion became her career which started off in the equine world. Over the last decade Becky has pursued a role in corporate insurance.

One can imagine that an only dog is not quite enough for Becky and at the moment shares her life with three Labradors, a rescue Whippet and a Patterdale Terrier.

During the season Becky can be found on local shoots working her gundogs.

Gundogs are amazing companions but before the joy comes most likely a long journey of training.The Gundog world can feel slightly overwhelming to new people starting off and so Becky is passionate about creating a space that is as inviting to new owners as it is to the experienced.

Her experience of almost lifelong animal ownership combined with plenty of customer facing roles paired gives Becky an easy and confident approach to teaching and it is Becky’s vision to help gundog owners to enjoy sharing their life and their home with a well - mannered and trained companion they can also take into public places without being challenged whilst doing so.

From new puppy owners to training a dog for the shooting field, Becky’s calm approach will help you work out a training journey that is suitable for you and your dog enabling you to achieve a well-mannered, well trained companion.

Oakwood Dog Training welcomes all dog owners and breeds, and lessons focus on the dog’s character, breed specific traits, establishing leadership and control alongside age-appropriate exercises.
