Beth Carter APGI

Beth has always had a passion for the countryside. She met her now husband Ben, the other half of Russetcopse at college. She studied countryside and estate management along with a NVQ level 3 in gamekeeping, where she discovered the enjoyment and need for working dogs in both conservation and sporting activities.

Having grown up with sight hounds running alongside her father’s ferrets Beth has always lived with working dogs and when moving in with Ben and his pack of Gundogs some 15 or more years ago, she decided she would like a small dog of her own, and so began her love of Dachshunds.

They now live in Cambridgeshire just on the outskirts of Cambridge with their Gundogs and Dachshunds, working, showing and training their own dogs and helping owners from all walks of life.

After many years joining Ben in the shooting field, Beth decided it was about time she had her own little spaniel to work alongside Bens and along came Seven at the perfect time to take on the APGI programme. Beth initially enrolled on the APGI programme, in January 2025, to increase her own understanding of canines, the way they learn, behave and interact.

Beth has vast experience raising pups and setting the foundations for both working and pet dogs, creating companions that are a joy to live with.The underlying skills and knowledge from living with, rearing, training and showing different breeds of different gives her an excellent grounding in dog training and behaviour.

Having worked with her husband for almost 10 years, Beth and Ben are the perfect team to tailor a training programme to suit you and your dog.Having vast experience in different areas combined.Be it a shooting companion, a family pet or a show ring contestant, they are sure to offer positive, progressive, real-world training to suit you and your dog’s individual needs.
